We are again preparing to celebrate the life and work of our Patron Saint, Lawrence. Using God’s creation with flowers and the gifts he has bestowed on some of us, we are hosting our annual Flower Festival. We invite you along with other individuals and organizations to be a part of our celebrations. Our Patron Saint Lawrence is celebrated on August 10th and a service to mark this occasion will be on Sunday 11th August at 9.30 am. Theme This year’s theme is “We’re going on a journey” and to help get you inspired we have produce the following: Bible journeys, songs/hymns about journeys and transport, books, your travels, Our own Flower Arrangers group co-ordinate the festival. This year we have added a list of suggestions below. This is not, by any means, an exhaustive list but hopefully will give you a direction. If you have any questions, or are stuck for an idea, please feel free to talk to any of them, none of them consider themselves “professionals” - they just enjoy arranging and we all started at the beginning at some time! Ideas which the flower group will be doing include: Around the world in 80 Days (Book), Palm Sunday (the journey into Jerusalem), Up, up and away in my beautiful balloon (Song), Hatched, matched and dispatched (A Life Journey). Please can you let the Benefice Office know the “title” of your display as soon as possible, then that allows the Group to keep a good overview and avoid too much duplication.

The Benefice Office is open between 9.30 -12 noon and 12.30 -2.30 pm, Mondays to Fridays (350459). Please don`t forget to tend your display once it is in place and to come and remove it, after the Festival. Church is open the daily Monday to Friday but only between 9.30 am and 5 pm. Many thanks. When You Can Set Up Your Display? To enable our Flower Arrangers group to organise the administration and allow the church to be clear of its morning service, we invite arrangers to come on Thursday 8th August from 10 am. The Church will then be locked at 8 pm sharp with a short break for evening prayer from 5 pm to 5.30 pm. If you cannot take on a display, but would like to make a financial contribution so that one can be prepared on your behalf, please contact the Benefice Office as soon as possible. The cost of an arrangement will vary according to size. A Pedestal £40 to a table arrangement £20.
